A message from the Consulate General of Japan: The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco is now accepting entries for the 2024 Once in Japan Photo Contest for a chance to win the latest cameras and products from Canon U.S.A., Inc. This year, the contest has a theme of People-to-People EXCHANGE & CONNECTION with Japan! Show use your recent favorite photos from sister city events, study abroad, festivals, and more, highlighting memories that connect you to Japan and its culture and people! You can submit up to three photos taken on a recent trip to Japan, or up to two Japan photos, and up to one Local Photo taken in your neighborhood, city, and community in Northern/Central California or Nevada expressing a connection with Japan and/or Japanese culture. See the winners of the 2023 contest here. The deadline for this contest is Sunday, 12/1/2024. PEACE PLAZA RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION UPDATE |

GOOD NEWS! The concrete slab below the Peace Pagoda has been waterproofed, and the five-story scaffolding is almost completed! Construction Updates for NOVEMBER into DECEMBER: EAST Mall – Entrance from Post Street – detour through the center of the Plaza (FYI: new temporary path alongside building installed in November). WEST Mall – Entrance from Post Street – path along the building (FYI: new detour through the center of Plaza to be installed in December.) NIGHT WORK – Up to three days of night work are expected in mid-November. Exact Dates will be announced, permits and notices will be posted. GARAGE WORK – In early November (5am – 10am), additional scaffolding will be added inside the lower garage ramp. Flaggers will direct traffic as needed. About 60 parking spots remain blocked for scaffolding and temporary lanes—please drive slowly and follow posted signs and detours. WATERPROOFING – From November 1-15, work on the concrete slabs east and west of the pagoda (FYI: the waterproofing slab adjacent Post St is set for late November to December). OPEN FOR BUSINESS! ピースパゴダのコンクリートスラブが防水処理され、5階建ての足場がほぼ完成しました！
11月から12月の工事進捗状況： 東館 – ポストストリートからの入口 – プラザ中央を通る迂回路（新しい仮設通路が11月に建物沿いに設置されました）。 西館 – ポストストリートからの入口 – 建物沿いの通路（12月にプラザ中央を通る新しい迂回路が設置される予定です）。 夜間工事 – 11月中旬に最大3日間の夜間工事が予定されています。具体的な日程は後日発表され、許可証と通知が掲示されます。 ガレージ工事 – 11月初旬（午前5時〜10時）、下階ガレージのランプ内に追加の足場が設置されます。必要に応じて交通誘導を行います。約60台分の駐車スペースが足場と仮設車線のため閉鎖されていますので、ゆっくり運転し、掲示された標識や迂回路を遵守してください。 防水工事 – 11月1日から15日まで、塔の東側と西側のコンクリートスラブに対して作業が行われます（ご参考：ポストストリート沿いの防水スラブは11月下旬から12月にかけて施工予定です）。 ジャパンセンターモールは工事期間中も通常通り営業しています。 ご質問があれば、お気軽にお問い合わせください。
