SAVE THE DATE: The 50th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair is just around the corner, on August 3-4. On its Golden Anniversary Year, 2024, the Nihonmachi Street Fair became the first festival to be designated as an official San Francisco Legacy Business. For details about the 2024 Nihonmachi Street Fair, check out the festival website.

There is a new effort by Salt Lake City Next Gen JA to revitalize the Salt Lake City Japantown, a once thriving and bustling business district. Read about the history in this article in the University of Utah Magazine. Sign the petition directed to the Salt Lake City Council and County Board of Supervisor to urge them to include the Japanese American community in urban planning for the historic Japantown area.
