Join an evening of peace and reflection at Flytrap Annex, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing. The program features a peace ceremony followed by two original pieces from Blue Leaf Arts—“Sadako’s Sun” and the new video work “8:15”. An important new exhibition opened at the San Francisco Historical Society this week, showcasing powerful historical photographs documenting the destruction of the Fillmore District during its "urban renewal" phase. Among the 24 poignant images, there's a special section dedicated to the Japanese American experience in Japantown. This exhibit offers a moving look at the impact of redevelopment, shedding light on the challenges faced by the community during this turbulent time.
