When economics blogger Noah Smith announced last year that he thinks ​Tokyo is the world’s greatest city, similar to what Paris was for past generations, many people took notice. He’s joining us to talk about what he likes best about Tokyo and what factors he thinks contribute to its success as a huge, dynamic city that manages to remain safe and livable. KOHO is partnering with REAL SOUL, Ryan Takemiya and the National Japanese American Historical Society on our next event “Love Letters to Japantown” on Saturday, August 10, 3-7 pm @ KOHO, Japan Center East Mall, 2nd Floor. This event aims to illustrate the history of redevelopment and gentrification in Japantown through storytelling! Each year, the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation puts out a call for local artists, connecting with hundreds of Bay Area artists for the chance to design a Heart. From 2nd graders to grateful patients to ZSFG staff to the internationally known, these artists use their talent to raise critical funds for the hospital.
