This week, spring arrives in San Francisco Japantown, from the upcoming Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival and its many volunteer opportunities to community classes, performances, scholarships, and internships, there are plenty of ways to get involved and support with the Japantown Cultural District in the weeks ahead.

Join us at the 2026 Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival, the largest cherry blossom festival in the country! The festival is free and open to the public and features cultural performances, traditional arts, live music, and the annual Queen Program — with many ways to volunteer and support the community celebration. Taiwanese-Japanese comedian Atsuko Okatsuka will serve as the 59th Grand Marshal for the Grand Parade on Sun, 4/19 (1–3 pm).
