This is a relaxed, in-person meetup where participants of all levels can practice Japanese conversation and connect with others in a friendly, low-pressure environment. The program runs bi-weekly on Sundays through 9/27, with two one-hour sessions offered at 12N and 2 pm. $10 per session at the Japantown Cultural District Visitor Center, Japan Center EAST Mall, 2F. Celebrate AAPI Month and welcome Pride Month with an afternoon of fashion, drag, and cultural expression! Organized by the National Japanese American Historical Society, the event celebrates the opening of the Queer Japantown exhibition at the Peace Gallery. Enjoy a drag performance by Kristi Yummykochi and a fashion show by Yutaka Ezekiel Goto, featuring sustainable designs inspired by Japanese textiles and identity. Kinmon Gakuen’s 2026 Summer Japanese Classes for children ages 5 through high school will be held on five Saturdays, 5/30-6/27, from 10 am-12N in San Francisco Japantown. Students will build Japanese reading, writing, and conversation skills through interactive lessons. Tuition is $300 all-inclusive. Register here.
