Year long programming including... - National Convening in LA of all cohorts (from Denver, Hawaii, LA, Chicago, Middlebury, SF) - SF Cohort travels to Convening #2 in Denver to meet and learn about the regional community issues - SF Cohort Workshops Who's Organizing? This is led by the Go For Broke National Education Center (down in Southern California) and our regional partners include the: - Sakura Foundation (Denver) - Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii (Oahu) - Japanese American Service Committee (Chicago) - Middlebury College (Middlebury, Vermont) - Nisei Memorial Veterans Center (Maui) -Japanese Community Youth Council (San Francisco)

51st Annual JBBP Matsuri A message from our friends at the Rosa Parks JBBP: “Join us for an evening with family, friends and alumni to celebrate 50 wonderful years of unique cultural programming and daily language curriculum. Provided to over 250 students per year in grades Kindergarten through 5th at Rosa Parks Elementary, this experience would not be possible today without years of community support. The $60 ticket includes dinner, dancing, and live music. Bring your cash for our JBBP JANKENPON GAME, Walt and Alex's homemade beer, and many CASH & CARRY items! The Event will include a short program and exciting Live Auction on Saturday, March 9th, starting at 6:00 pm. The door opens at 5:30. Kimono or Matsuri attire is welcome! Free parking is available at the Event Center. School-aged children attending the event need a ticket and must remain under the supervision of responsible parents/guardians during the event. On-site childcare available for a fee. The Online Auction opened on 3/3 and will close 3/10 at 12N.” Purchase tickets, bid for auction items, and/or make a donation at the event link. |

YOU’RE INVITED! KOHO has the honor of stewarding 1675 Post Street as a community gathering space for the SF Japantown Community in partnership with Japantown Task Force/Japantown Cultural District.
Creating synergy between established and emerging artists and culture bearers of multiple generations, KOHO’s Co-Creative Arts and Culture Hub will provide opportunities for authentic and culturally relevant creative story-telling, generational conversations, and artistic narratives honoring Japantown’s 117-year-old history and the transformative voices of the ever-evolving multi-ethnic, intergenerational community of today.
