Please join us TONIGHT for a Town Hall hosted by the Human Rights Commission to discuss community needs in the Fillmore/Japantown once the Fillmore Street Safeway is expected to close in January 2025. The meeting will be held 6-7:30 pm at The Center, 1840 Sutter, Issei Memorial Hall, on the ground floor. A light dinner of sushi and finger foods catered by Super Mira will be served! This event is FREE. Even if you can only come for a short time, please join us. It is important for us to show solidarity among Japantown-Fillmore District-Western Addition!

A message from the California-Japan Sister Cities Network in partnership with the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles: Anyone involved in California-Japan sister city relationships is invited to the 2024 online workshop “Creative Engagement of Next Gen Leaders,” 5-7 pm on Wed, 6/12 via Zoom. The Long Beach-Yokkaichi Sister City Association will present on its unique and creative programs that engage young people. There is free on-site parking, and a shuttle to and from the Peace Plaza so that you stay to shop in Japantown. afterwards. The event is FREE and open to the public.
