Message from Don Tamaki, Appointee of Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans, with a Special Consideration for African Americans Who are Descendants of Persons Enslaved in the United States (Reparations Task Force): The Task Force is now focusing on developing recommendations for remedies to be submitted to the Legislature by June 30, 2023 at which point the Task Force will sunset. Simultaneously, we are developing recommendations to educate the public as to why reparations are long overdue. Check out the 29 page Executive Summary. Two opportunities to hear from Don about the work of the Task Force.
