新年明けましておめでとうございます！自然災害など様々なチャレンジに直面していますが、サンフランシスコ日本町コミュニティは回復力に富んでいます。昨年よりも2023年はさらに大きな改善がなされますよう、皆様のご協力をお願いします。最初の改善として今年からJTFのお知らせに日本語（要約）を追記・記載します。

1. 2023 Japantown Oshogatsu Matsuri New Year’s Festival by the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Northern California. 　 2023年 JCCCNC主催新年お正月祭り

From our friends at The Center: “Join us in welcoming 2023, the Year of the Rabbit, at our annual Oshogatsu Matsuri! Co-hosted with the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC), API Legal Outreach, and the Hamilton Senior Center, we are excited to present an afternoon filled with cultural arts, crafts, food, and fun! Come with family and friends to enjoy shikishi art, *screen printing, our children’s art contest, a mochitsuki (rice pounding) demonstration, food for sale, and much more! We are excited to ring in the new year with everyone and encourage all to join us for this free community celebration!

*Bring a plain, light-colored t-shirt and Japantown artists will silkscreen print a Year of the Rabbit design on it for free!”

北米日本人文化コミュニティセンター（JCCCNC）にて、この1月7日土曜日、11時から午後3時まで恒例の新年お正月祭りが開催。

開催者から一言、”今年はうさぎ年、JCYC, API Legal Outreach,やHamilton Senior Centerの協賛を得て、新年にちなみ、お餅つきを始め日本文化的なアート、工芸、食べ物が盛りだくさん用意されています。どうぞ奮ってご参加ください。薄い色のプレーンなTシャツもお忘れなく。うさぎ年にちなんだデザインのシルクスクリーンが無料でプリントできます！”

2. Free COVID Rapid Test Kits　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　COVIDテストキット無料配布

Given the recent upswing in COVID cases, JTF is offering free COVID rapid test kits to organizations (up to 20 kits) and individuals (up to 5 kits) provided by the California Department of Public Health while supplies last. Pick-up is at the JTF office, 1764 Sutter Street, 3rd Floor, on weekdays. 3. Chinese New Year Parade Rehearsals by We Are One 　　　　We Are Oneによるチャイニーズニューイヤー・パレードリハーサル

The interfaith, intercultural organization We Are One that bridges the diverse communities of Japantown and the Western Addition and beyond will again be participating in the Chinese New Year Parade set for Sat, 2/4. The We Are One Committee is composed of Archbishop Greg Richardson, Bayard P. Fong, Rev. Masato Kawahatsu, Melissa "Alex" Medel, and Jeff Matsuoka. All are welcome to join! Here is the parade practice schedule (all at Japantown Peace Plaza unless otherwise noted):

日本町、ウエスタンアディション及びそれ以外の多様なコミュニティから組織されるWe Are Oneは、チャイニーズ新年パレードに参加します。参加に伴いパレードのリハーサルを上記の日程にて行いますので、皆様奮ってご参加ください。スケジュールのアップデートなどは上記のウエッブサイトからどうぞ。

4.　Japantown History Mural Proposal 日本町歴史壁画

The San Francisco Japanese American Citizens League has proposed a Japantown HIstory Mural along Geary Boulevard, featuring images of individuals who have contributed to San Francisco Japantown in significant ways. There are two remaining community meetings and all are invited to these free meetings, in-person or virtually. RSVP at the SFJACL website.

• Mon, 1/30, 7-8 pm @ Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter.

サンフランシスコ日系アメリカ人市民同盟（JACL)は、ゲーリー通りに位置する歴史壁画のデザインを、日本町に対し多大に貢献した人物をペイントすることを提案してきました。その決定までにまだ２回のコミュニティミーティングがあります。どうぞご自由にご参加ください。参加予約は上記ウエッブサイトまで。
