The 2023 Lunar New Year occurs on Sun, 1/22/23. The largest Chinese New Year Parade in North America, held on Sat, 2/4, will wind through the streets of downtown San Francisco and end in Chinatown. Join the “We Are One” interfaith, intercultural, and interracial parade contingent - participation is free! Less than 3 weeks remain until parade day and we need more people for the contingent! JTF welcomes new board member Marlon Smith, Hotel Enso General Manager! On 1/18, Marlon Smith was elected to the JTF Board of Directors. Marlon has supervised the renovation of the Hotel Enso (formerly the Hotel Buchanan) which reopened last month and is committed to partnering with the Japantown community. As you know, the community rallied to prevent the sale of the hotel for other uses. The centrally located hotel at 1800 Sutter Street (xBuchanan) will bring out-of-town visitors who were prevented from traveling due to the pandemic to shop and dine in Japantown again. Welcome Marlon! 1月18日にJTFの新しいボードメンバーとして、ジャパンタウンにあるホテルエンソの支配人マーロンスミスが任命されました。ホテルは改装が終わり、12月に再オープンしました。パンデミックで滞っていた市外からの旅行者は、こちらのホテルで安全に宿泊し、ジャパンタウンで買い物や食事を楽しんでいただけます。

Update on the Japantown Cultural Heritage Housing & Economic Sustainability Strategy Report JTF expects the City to release the final draft of the Japantown CHHESS in the next few days. Once that happens, JTF will (1) post it to the JTF website for public review, (2) offer an online feedback form, and (3) schedule a virtual Community Briefing on the Japantown CHHESS. After the public review process, the report will go to the Board of Supervisors for adoption. Will keep you posted! 日本町文化遺産、住居と経済持続発展戦略（CHHESS)のレポートにおけるアップデート

Given the recent upswing in COVID cases, JTF is offering free COVID rapid test kits to organizations (up to 20 kits) and individuals (up to 5 kits) provided by the California Department of Public Health while supplies last. Pick-up is at the JTF office, 1764 Sutter Street, 3rd Floor, on weekdays.
