Ryoji Taki and his team, including Juana Valderrana pictured above, are excited to invite you to Japantown’s newest cafe, located on the ground floor of the New People Building at 1746 Post Street (formerly Crown & Crumpet). An important new exhibition opened at the San Francisco Historical Society this week, showcasing powerful historical photographs documenting the destruction of the Fillmore District during its "urban renewal" phase. Among the 24 poignant images, there's a special section dedicated to the Japanese American experience in Japantown. This exhibit offers a moving look at the impact of redevelopment, shedding light on the challenges faced by the community during this turbulent time.
