Japantenna is looking for a few volunteers for this weekend’s Japantenna Ehime, Sat, 7/29 - Sun, 7/30, 11 am - 6 pm, at the new Japantown Cultural District Visitor Center located on the 2nd Floor of the Japan Center EAST Mall, next to Sasa Restaurant. We are featuring a virtual bike ride on the famed Shimanami Kaido, across bridges connecting beautiful islands, door prizes every 30 minutes, a free gifts! Now through 8/3, enjoy a special ceramics exhibit by Paul Lanier who continues the artistic legacy of his mother, legendary Japanese American sculptor Ruth Asawa, at the Carter and Co gallery in St. Helena, 1231 Main Street, open Tues-Sat, 10:30 am - 5 pm.

From artistic collaborators at First Voice: “Paul Lanier is a ceramic artist and sculptor who lives and works in San Francisco. He studied extensively with Bauhaus master artist Marguerite Wildenhain at Pond Farm. Paul has 40 years of experience working with designers and architects on public and private interior and exterior pieces. The youngest of the Asawa/Lanier children, Paul assisted his mother on many of her large scale public art projects.
