Reparations Are One Signature Away — Take Action Now!

All four of ARRT’s priority reparations bills — AB 57, AB 62, SB 437, and SB 518 — have passed the Legislature. This is historic. But without Governor Newsom’s signature by 10/12, they will not become law. Over 3,500 Californians have already urged him to sign — let’s reach 5,000 by next week. It takes less than 3 minutes to act.

An Important Community Safety Update from the Japantown Community Benefit District: Arson & Theft Prevention
Early on the morning of September 27, a suspected arsonist set multiple small fires outside the Nihonmachi Little Friends (NLF) building in Japantown; while the building was unharmed, surveillance footage captured the suspect lingering at the scene for over an hour. The incident has been reported to SFPD, and community members are encouraged to share related information.

ジャパンタウン・コミュニティ・ベネフィット・ディストリクトからの重要なお知らせ：放火および窃盗防止について

9月27日早朝、ジャパンタウンにあるニホンマチ・リトル・フレンズ（NLF）ビルの外で、放火の疑いがある人物によって複数の小規模な火災が発生しました。建物自体に被害はありませんでしたが、防犯カメラには、容疑者が1時間以上現場にとどまっている様子が記録されています。この事件はサンフランシスコ市警（SFPD）に報告されており、地域の皆様には、関連する情報があれば共有いただくよう呼びかけています。

As JTF readers know, the “Rollin’ Root” mobile farmers market with fresh local produce (open to all; 50% off for SNAP clients) is no longer happening in our neighborhood because Sat 9/27 was the last day. Unfortunately, federal funds were cut for farm fresh food. So this will be discontinued in our neighborhood. The one on Visitacion Valley Greenway, 114 Leland Avenue & Peabody, will remain open Thursday mornings, 9:30-11am, next to Mission Blue Cafe, a great cafe. And at the Visitacion Valley Greenway, there is a zig-zagging route up to a beautiful community garden. The pathways are landscaped and have creative gates and sculptures.

近隣住民リンダ・ウォルシュよりメッセージ: JTF読者の皆さんはご存知のとおり、新鮮な地元産の農産物を販売していた移動式ファーマーズマーケット「Rollin’ Root」（どなたでも利用可・SNAP利用者は50％割引）は、残念ながら9月27日（土）が最後となり、私たちの地域ではもう開催されません。これは、農産物に対する連邦政府の補助金が打ち切られたためです。ただし、ビジテーション・バレー・グリーンウェイ（114 Leland Avenue & Peabody）では、引き続き毎週木曜日の午前9時30分～11時に営業します。すぐ隣にはとても素敵な「Mission Blue Cafe」があります。さらに、ビジテーション・バレー・グリーンウェイ内にはジグザグの小道を上がっていくと、美しいコミュニティガーデンがあり、園路には造園が施され、ユニークな門や彫刻も楽しめます。
