The San Francisco Department of Public Works has announced a request for bids on the $5.3M Osaka Way Upgrades Project. Bids are due by 2:30 pm on Wed, Jan 28, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10 am on Thurs, Jan 15 via Microsoft Teams. Here is a link to the announcement.

Join us for a Sogetsu-style flower arranging workshop to create a KADOMATSU, traditional entryway decoration for the New Year. The Japantown Cultural District Visitor Center is pleased to partner with the San Francisco Bay Area Branch of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana Flower-Arranging to present a unique and rich traditional Japanese cultural experience. This event is ONE DAY ONLY, Saturday, January 10, 2026. Sign up for sessions held 11:15 am-12:30 pm and 1:45-3 pm. This event promises to sell out! Tickets: $35 + Eventbrite fees to cover materials.

新年に玄関に飾る伝統的な「門松」を制作する、草月流いけばなワークショップにぜひご参加ください。

日本町文化地区ビジターセンター（Japantown Cultural District Visitor Center）は、草月流いけばなサンフランシスコ・ベイエリア支部との提携により、このユニークで豊かな日本の伝統文化体験をお届けいたします。本イベントは2026年1月10日（土）の1日限定開催です。 セッションは「11:15〜12:30」と「13:45〜15:00」の2回行われます。 チケット完売が予想されますので、お早めにお申し込みください！

TennaBear Holiday Celebration Gara-gara Redemption Extended until January 11!
Due to inclement weather, the Visitor Center was unfortunately closed on Saturday, January 3 and Sunday, January 4. Because of this holiday weekend closure, we are extending the redemption period until Sunday, January 18th.
